Throughout history, art has inspired action. Mosaic Theatre Company distinguishes itself by producing theatre that encourages personal and social change. Our goal is to produce art that reflects truth, beauty, justice and goodness – leading people to change broken relationships and systems in their homes, workplaces and communities.
For children, we will use theatre arts to encourage important life virtues such as honesty, respect and cooperation; believing these values will help them achieve healthy and productive lives.
For adults, we will not only entertain, but will challenge audiences to bring wholeness, health and renewal to their individual and community lives. We will raise important questions that help bring about personal and social awareness. We will also seek to provide a vehicle through which people can give back to their community. We will partner with non-profit organizations whose purpose is reflected in the content of the play. We will support the organization financially by donating a percentage of the proceeds from ticket sales to the designated charity. We will also provide audiences with information about the charity by introducing their purpose at each performance and including information about the organization in the playbill. We will also encourage the involvement of the artists in the cause.

Art fosters community. Mosaic will have a strong presence in its geographic community. With theatrical art as its vehicle, we will encourage a bond between the audience and the artist. We will also involve the community by inviting our audience to participate in creative, promotional and operational aspects of the theatre.

We value the artists for more than their creative contributions. Our desire is to give theatre professionals the opportunity to work in an environment that offers them artistic freedom, a common mission, dignity, encouragement and support.
accessibility
We reject the idea that theatre arts should be available only to audiences of privilege. Our play selection, casting policy, ticket prices and education programs will reflect a commitment to an inclusive, community-involved theatre. Moreover, a percentage of all proceeds from the youth theatre will be used to offset the cost of theatre education and performances for children in our community who could not otherwise afford to participate.

We value excellence as the fullest expression of our purpose. We will focus on creating the highest-quality theatrical performances and education programs, producing classic and original plays that reflect artistic creativity and excellence.
education
Theatre has tremendous power to educate. Involving children in theatre arts promotes a sense of self-worth and accomplishment. Our program will be a home for year-round theatre education, providing classes and camps for children. It will also be a place to provide theatrical performances based on children’s literature that both educates and encourages important life virtues.

why MOSAIC?
Small pieces of glass, stone or pottery are assembled to form a beautiful piece of art called a Mosaic. Quite often, these pieces are broken and otherwise useless remnants. Many of us live in broken relationships and social systems that need renewal and restoration. Our purpose is to help restore beauty from brokenness by bringing theatre that inspires truth, beauty, justice and goodness – leading people in changing broken relationships and systems in their homes, workplaces and communities.
